Steamed at the MTA? Volunteer! New York’s state and city comptrollers just found found that the MTA kept two sets of books, "one for the public and one that it kept to itself"- and hid a surplus of $500 million while calling for a $2 subway and bus fare to start on Sunday, May 4th. If you’re steamed, the NYPIRG Straphangers Campaign urges you to volunteer! We’re calling on our supporters to help hand out tens of thousands of leaflets urging riders to send officials a message loud and clear - delay the fare hike and reform the MTA! Come out and join us!
