Supposedly there's a broken rail on the Queens Local track between 61st and Main Street, causing all Queens-bound trains to run expreess today. Bad weeks? I think it's more like bad months. Anyone know more?

Well, like I say over and over again with the 7...just seems like the 7 is always in the barrel for it to mess up the way it does..no line can have worse luck can it?

The G... wink :p

Seriously, all of the weekend GO's have apparently riled up local politicians (specificially Sunnyside's Eric Gioia and Flushing's John Liu; both Dems) and they may do something about it. Of course, the MTA really has no other time to do those projects.

If anything, this broken rail was really more of an accident.

I don't even think the G has this bad of luck.....but the 7 with the unexpected delays are on top of the list of lines to expect the expected delays, I just can't understand a line with such bad karma confused

I went to Queensboro Plaza at 4 PM with plans to go to Flushing. Spent 15 minutes on the platform with no train, went downstairs and took a W home.

For a photo op or two, I gather? In any case, I don't blame you. I've been waiting at Queensboro too many time observing the rampant pushing and shoving through those IRT-doors, only to figure out that it's a local instead of an express. smile

I was on a 7 Exp that became a local (Igot on at Grand Central). During our entry into the Queensboro Plaza station, the C/R came on and said "we have just been informed that this is now a 7 express train to Flushing" or something to that effect.

The express train was not as crowded as usual, probably because the numerous announcements of "No Express" at Times Square scared people off the train.

I try not to take the 7 unless I really have to, or if it is part of my railfanning tour...otherwise, I just won't ride it

You see, that's the opposite of me, although we go to different destinations. I avoid Penn Station at all costs.

I was at QBP today around Four, I guess thats why the Flushing bound platform was so damn packed. I was gonna go to Rawson, but I saw the crowed, then decided to take the N to Lex, then the 4 to Union, then I tried my luck to spot an artic on the 14.

It was a pretty big mess when I was coming home from school today around 3. Huge crowds were waiting on Main Street bound platforms waiting for a train to bring them to the nearest express stations and service was a bit erratic. I was surprised to see a lot of people on a 111st Stret bound train. The platform was fairly crowded already when I passed above it and the 111 train was the next local.

No there are not - i think there are actually fewer R62A's than there were total redbirds as R62A's have a higher MDBF than the redbird so R62A's are better than those redbirds - give it up Redbirds are gone and the R62A's are staying for another 15-20 years  If you hate the 7 line so much now just move to some other line
