That's because of how long the line is local all the way with no help in brooklyn.

Poor R train. It's not that bad of a train. It just has a tedious route, with clunky cars.

The (R) does have a long route (all local) from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to Bay Ridge-95th Street,

I 've heard that it has been shortened nights to run 59th Street to Bay Ridge-95th Street rather than 36th Street to Bay Ridge-95th Street.

The (N) has taken a hit, also, again running local in Manhattan Lexington Avenue to Canal Street.

It has to go 36th Street to relay anyway. It might as well allow people a direct transfer to the D train.

Its not much of a loss and the R46 is not a clunky.
