Why are there no Global Mods? I'm assuming that these are mods that have the power to moderate in every forum. At all the other forums I'm on, and on the others that I've seen, when someone is a moderator they can moderate in all sections of the forum instead of one or two. Some sections of the forum have moderators that are very inactive or who no longer check the site (since they have had more important issues that have popped up in their lives).

There should be a few mods chosen that should moderate across the boards, like on other forums. It would make it easier to request a change to a post or something in a certain forum where both moderators don't sign on often.

Agreed, 3348. Agreed completely. Hopefully, the staff can discuss this and we can make some changes.

Since Moderators are assigned to individual forums here at Rider Diaries, how would a Global Moderator work?

A global moderator would be able to moderate all forums.

That I understand. In a sense, aren't our Coordinators Hiro Nakamura and Cate like Global Moderators and that's why the eight of us are assigned to individual forums instead of having one or two or all eight of us moderate all twenty forums?

IMHO but MegaWiz can fill in the details but I believe in the past that in order to mod a section you had to be listed for that section. RokuSix is listed for every section as a mod.

This is why it was setup that mods assigned to a few forums instead of everyone.

An example is the Caboose, everyone is listed as a mod since we have to move messages into there from the forums we are mods of.

Hope that was clear.

i always though a global moderator was someone who was from a foreing country and knew a lot about Nyc mta and the world.
but its easier to be a sectional mod than whole because of less work load of moving threads like brighton says. mabey "one day" the 1st global mod will be nominated but untill then make due with what you have.

I thought Hiro was the global mod, not that there's THAT much to do here. But I think what he's gettin at is an extra tier of moderation. I'm a mod at Blizzforums (Blizzard fansite), and there's an extra tier... above us mods, there's senior mods that mod all forums (global mods here), and above them are the site admins. Most of the site-wide moderating and mod policing are done by the seniors, leaving admins to deal with just board updating and other technical issues. But that's a larger site than this one.

There doesn't appear to be much to moderate anymore. I haven't checked back at this site often, any it doesn't seem like much new material appears between my visits.

1,lack of active users
2,no chaos lately with users spamming links or just flaming/trolling period in the forums.
3,some of us might be sick and don't be online or just too busy.

Could there be some way of collaborating with a more active forum like NYC Transit Forums to get more users onto this site?

I'll say this: there's too many forums here especially for the subways. What needs to be done is to consolidate them into maybe 1 or 2 forums. This way you cut down on the redundent/similar posts such as in the Broadway and 6th Av forms.

As for posts in general: other than speculation stuff like the SAS, R160s and other stuff, most other topics have been talked to death about. There's just nothing new to add to what has been talked about already.

Just my 2 cents.

Well, it's been 3 weeks since the service changes. Now should be a good time to merge a few threads together like the Broadway, 6th, 8th Avs and G lines; J/Z and L lines; and the Lex, 7th Av and 7 lines.
Get rid of possible duplicate threads and make things more uniformed.

I'm actually not a moderator of any forums that have experienced service changes (lucky me, huh?), but I really don't think that we should tweak anything until the forums have been officially switched over. If anything, I support a temporary shut down of the site to get things organized.

So everything can be moved and properly organized. You can't redesign a site and have it live.
