They said the end of next year it will be systemwide, no info on the order of what areas coming online, all I know is the areas on the (2)(5) north of 3rd Av-149 will be the last to come on along with (1) South Ferry, the only revenue areas without ATS at this time.

well everything is still in the testing phase (on some days, off on others), even the stuff on the 6 line. when i say "are up", i just mean i spotted them working at that particular moment going by (worked the 4 this week), i don't mean its done and will be up 24/7. not even the stuff on the 6 line are up 24/7 and, i have yet to see a gap station go online anywhere.

More often than not, they're up (about 80% of the time at most stations at least). They are hooking up 68th street at the moment, saw the contractors bringing power to the display board late last night on my last trip.

Four stations in Brooklyn (Bergen St., Eastern Pkwy-Brooklyn Museum, Nostrand Av, and Kingston Av) have the PA/CIS screens online now. Also, St. Lawrence Ave. now has these signs along with 3 other Pelham line stations that are still unidentified. Here is the updated list:

(1) None
(2) Bergen St., Eastern Pkwy-Brooklyn Museum, Nostrand Av, Kingston Av
(White Plains Rd. stations will get signs by November 2011 after signal work)
(3) Bergen St., Eastern Pkwy-Brooklyn Museum, Nostrand Av, Kingston Av
(4) None
(5) None (White Plains Rd. stations will get signs by November 2011 after signal work; Dyre line stations will not get until 2016)
(6) Buhre Ave., Middletown Rd., Longwood Ave., E. 149th St., E. 143rd St., Cypress Ave., Brook Ave., St. Lawrence Ave.
(7) None (stations will not get signs until 2016 after CBTC and PA/CIS work)

Here is a list of the stations that have the signs on a line-by-line basis, which is more convenient to keep track of. At the end of each line is the stations on the line with screens out of the total stations on the line.

The Bronx
Broadway/7th Ave. Line (1) - None (0/3) (Marble Hill = Manhattan)
Jerome Line (4) - None (0/14)
White Plains Road/Dyre Ave. Line (2)(5) - None (White Plains Rd. stations will get signs by November 2011 after signal work; Dyre line stations will not get until 2016)
Pelham Line (6) - Buhre Ave., Middletown Rd., Longwood Ave., E. 149th St., E. 143rd St., Cypress Ave., Brook Ave., St. Lawrence Ave. (11/18, 8 listed)

Brooklyn
Brooklyn Mainline - Bergen St., Eastern Pkwy-Brooklyn Museum (2/9)
Livonia Line (3)(4) - Nostrand Ave., Kingston Ave. (2/10)
Nostrand Ave. Line (2)(5) - None (0/7)

Manhattan
Broadway/7th Ave. Line (1)(2)(3) - None (0/43) (Marble Hill = Manhattan)
Lexington Ave. Line (4)(5)(6) - None (0/23)
42nd St. Line (7) - None (stations will not get signs until 2016 after CBTC and PA/CIS work)
42nd St. Crosstown (S) - None (0/2)

Queens
Flushing Line - None (stations will not get signs until 2016 after CBTC and PA/CIS work)

Stations with the new screens: 15/152 (12 listed - not counting WPR, Dyre & Flushing lines)

Also, it would make sense for a mod to move this to the General Subway forum because it's now systemwide instead of just on the Pelham line.

It seems kind of random the way it's being rolled out although you could speculate that the first stations on the Bronx 6 were low risk due to ridership and maybe other factors, but some of the Brooklyn stations are busy...

I'm sure that there's a reason to the rhyme, I just can't figure out what it is.

Its kinda obvious why Manhattan is last, Ive seen some sporadic testing at Astor Pl, as I said earlier they were hooking up 68th this week but that's just bringing power to the display device still a long way to go there. The other thing i wonder is if the money is there to complete the rollout, or is there a piece that is a part of a still unfunded future capital plan...

The screens in the stations go online when the installation of ATS and PA/CIS installation is completed. So it's just rolled out on a basis of which stations have the installation finished first. Also, this was already funded by the 2000-2004 Capital Program so all A Division stations will have these new screens, with the exceptions of the White Plains Rd. (needs signal modernization), Dyre Ave. (signal modernization), and Flushing (ATS/CBTC) lines.

I used the 6 yesterday and both Astor Pl. and Canal St. were working in both directions. So right now, every Pelham Line local station, Astor Pl., Bleecker St. and 157th St. on the 1 have the signs.

I see installation going on in the local 6 stations in the UES too. I wonder where exactly the one at Spring St is at... it must be on the entry side of the turnstyle where I cant see it when coming into the station.

Whitlock Avenue and Morrison-Soundview will probably receive them when work is finished. Westchester Square has them, though.

Whitlock and Morrison had them before they closed, in fact they were still on after they closed until they cut the power lol.

Newkirk Avenue on the Nostrand Avenue line has the system up and running. I'm not sure about the other stations on the line, though. Do these boards account for General Orders/Construction ? I would imagine so, since I saw the board today and it correctly announced the (5) running in the place of the (2).

Yeah, announcements can be programmed into them for long term GOs (like station closures or alternate service). But it doesn't account for delays just yet, and the times are approximate (don't pay attention to anything beyond the 2nd train), it doesn't quite know what to do if a train isn't moving (the arrival time just won't move either just like the train).

They were testing a bit at 3Av-138 (6). Also, 23rd, 28th, 33rd, Bleecker and Spring streets (6) were added. Ill be working on the west side most of May (3), so Ill see whats going on over there beyond the ones already mentioned.

Franklin Av becomes the first (major) station to get onboard (pun intended).

The board at Franklin Avenue on the Manhattan-Bound side appears to work just fine, but the Flatbush/New Lots-Bound side still seems to have a few kinks. For starters, when I saw the board, it seemed to exclude(2) trains going to Flatbush Avenue. Also, the train arrival times were wrong. But it said 'System Under Test, so I guess it's excuseable. Sterling Street also has the boards up and it's looking good!

Yes i noticed the manhattan bound side is also off.i think the signs at franklin might be a little different than at other stations. They are wider and their font is different. The sign at the turnstiles is just like any other station.Oh and the(2) to Flatbush is always there. However im not sure.I think if its more than 10 min away it might not show. This is what I have noticed.Announcements are just fine by the way.

Well we figured those would be the hardest to figure out with the dual tracks, I also want to see how it handles last minute service changes (like 2 trains routed to the express or 4 trains to the local for instance). These gap stations were the last to get going, Hunts Pt (6) was operative as of last night (when I went thru there on the way home). Hoyt street also will get going soon they turned the signs on but it wasnt broadcasting any info. Also at Franklin its really the first station where there's constantly a train arriving, and you know it announces the train approaching the station but when its in the station is something else.
