The L is perfect as it is. No line should be extended to Rockaway other than possibly using the old LIRR Row. Even then, the populatyion of Far rockaway wouldn't justify it considering about 5,000 people use Rockaway stations per day.

Agreed. There simply isn't enough of a demand at the Rockaway stations for additional service.

the L should not be extended to Queens. If anything I would extend the L further into Brooklyn. It should go to Starett City, Floyd Bennet Feild (they are turning that place into quite the attraction) and also to Kings Plaza Mall where it should join for a transfer with the 2 and the 5 which should also be extened to Kings Plaza.

Do you honestly see ANY need for extending the L to Queens?

Because ridership in the Rockaways don't have a high ridership, and the demand isn't there. The (L)is fine with it's terminal.

Ridership and demand does not justify the need. Most people living in those areas want to work around Midtown or Lower Manhattan. If the L is extended, the travel may be longer, plus there would be a need for a transfer. So what's the point???

I would rather see the (L) extended further into Brooklyn than into Queens.

How about no? There's no need to bring it to Queens, period. Not the Rockaways, not Orchard Beach, not any Queens neighborhood.

Actually, the (L) does briefly dip into Queens at the point right near Halsey.

How about the L line isn't extended period? Other than the occasional idea floating around of the L being extended to Gateway Mall.
