it wasnt a mirage, GC. i really shared a FULL WINDOW, not some small box, with some dude on the 3 train yesterday. most, if not all, of the cars had the blue sticker with the orange diamond in the middle, as opposed to the solid orange stickers that all other 3 trains have. go find it sometime this week. i found it going downtown at 2:46 PM @ 110th Street

By now I think it is all R46 again mainly for swaps w/the G.
And Bronx Thru Express, don't worry I believe you. I just haven't had my chance to ride an R62A 3 in a very long time. Only the R62's have the Orange ex-Jerome/Concourse yard stickers.

And today I caught a railfan window on the 3 (R62A 1908!!), with the other end of the car having its storm door hanging open (along with the 2nd car behind it)!!!!! I took it to Grand Army Plaza and went back to Park Place on a R62 (1586-1590) with the double-wide flat seats, the little pull-down window opened ("B" end) and the storm door hung open!!!

I got video, but it's a large .mov (or .qt) file.

Ah, oh well, cause I saw it going uptown on the curve at Saratoga. The sunlight hit it beautifully!! And, yes it was the one with 1908 at the back.

The G did have a R32 on it one time. But this was about 3 or 4 years ago when I saw it at Hoyt-Schemerhorn,when it was mostly still using 6 car R46's.Too bad it was heading to 71Av and I think I was going home at the time too.If it had been going Smith-9Sts bound,I would've gone on it down to Smith and all the way back to Continental Av!I wouldn't have cared what time I would've gotten home.

I've ridden on R32 on the "G", but this was when "G" was still running to 71st/Continental all times and before the "V" fiasco.

Has anyone ever ridden on the R40 slant on the "L" line? This is going back to when I was still in H.S.

I remember in those days service from Myrtle/Wyckoff to Union Square was under 20 mins on a good day, even with the 2 wicked turns.

That's quite possible now (even without a battery run), unless there's door holding at Lorimer and Bedford.

No. The railfan window was removed some time ago. However, the train is still running.
