This morning I was waiting at Church Av around 10:30 for a Manhattan-bound (B) train, when I saw something very peculiar. When an R160 Coney Island-bound (Q) train left the station, I noticed that all except one of the signs were correct (Q CONEY ISLAND, Q BROADWAY EXP, Q BRIGHTON LCL). The sign on the 2nd or 3rd to last car read:

Q MAX DEADLOCK OBTAINED
Q RELOAD OPERATION

Any ideas what that means? I believe that the car with this sign was empty.

Probably just a computer failure.

Max Deadlock Operation, I found that on one of my You Tube Videos I did last Christmas time. It wasn't by any chance R160B 8894 Siemans Propulsion set, was it? That is the only one I know that has that display signage on it. That was on the N train last year!

That's the (N)'s nickname, I think.

Because it is express on 4th Ave. It would make more sense to say

N Broadway Express to Coney Island via Bridge/4th Ave Exp/ Seabeach

it should said 4th ave express instead of sea beach express da would make more sense

It says "Sea Beach Exp" because it travels express along the 4 Av line. If you take the train as early as I do, when the (N) is still running as a 4 Av local on its late night schedule, the sign reads "Sea Beach Lcl". So it is telling you whether the train is local or express on 4 Av.

It says Sea Beach to distinguish itself from the D line. I personally think that these designations are confusing to the average rider.

EE thinks Sea Beach Exp on the (N) is for the Sea Beach Line + Broadway and Fourth Avenue Express. What might be confusing is a (Q) reading Brighton Exp.
