I'll so miss that too, btw they still have the 'subway race' and guess which cap is hiding the ball games though right?
Btw nice pics of the stadium QB-Broadway/Brighton and Furio cool - Sure gives me options when I go to the Yankees games burn

So what do you think of the Mets after 13 games? (6-7)

They're upside down. Okay hitting and horrible pitching, especially the bullpen. I don't even know if they'd be much better if they were healthy, but the season's still young.

I feel the potential is clearly there, but there are a lot of things that need to be worked on. Something we like to call basics. wink

here is the prolem with the Mets....I think the bullpen is gonna end up being taxed again this year, because for some reason, it seems like Art Howe doesn't know how to manage a bullpen it seems like, and the Mets need to play some fundamental baseball, no need to swing for the fences, or Downtown Flushing for that matter, play some small ball, and Matsui really needs to get on base a weebit more in my opinion

.500 ball given the circumstances, I'll take it.

This team shows promise. They aren't making the same mistakes that cost them games last year. The defense has been solid, and the hitting has been great.

The starting pictching has been great, 4 out of 5 starters doing well. The bullpen has been awful, and to me that's the "hump" factor. If the bullpen straightens out, they'll get over the hump.

I think if they can continue their at-.500 play until Reyes and Floyd are back, and the bullpen can get on track (last night they showed some signs) they can get over .500.

The Yankees have the same record by the way. Their key aquisition hasn't panned out yet (Rodriguez), whereas ours (Matsui) has.

What do you think of the abundance of home runs this season so far? Barry Bonds has 8 dingers through 12 games putting at #3 by himself at 666 home runs. Does he have enough in him to 89 more to pass Aaron?

If he hits at least 45 this season, then he just needs another 45 or so next season to make it. I think he has a good chance (barring injury).

You better duck the Yanks will be at the stadium and taunt your Red Sox every second :p
And it took Roger 1.5 years to be fully effective, A-Rod will get adjusted soon enough otherwise Jeter should stop being so selfish and move to 2nd and let A-Rod play some games at shortstop then A-Rod might be doing better

What do you all think of the home runs getting hit all over the place?

Hideki Matsui: 54 AB, 15 H, 7 RBI, 1 HR, .278 avg

And talk about smelly...

Montreal Expos as a team:

16 games, .198 avg, 26 runs scored, 104 hits, 107 strikeouts

I guess he was trying to make up for his gaffe in game one of the 2000 world series. I was wondering where Timo was, to me he was a love/hate type of player. He'd make some of the stupidest decisions on a baseball diamond, but then come back and hit 2 doubles.

How does going from shortstop to 3rd affect A-Rod's offensive production?

Well think about it if you had to make a major adjustment after being in a certain position for most of your career wouldn't you feel some difference to your approach to the game? - batting is only half of the game, the other half is fielding

This was a disappointing weekend for NY baseball. Where do the Yankees and Mets go from here? Eli Manning got the attention this weekend.

Well at least the pitching [now a '2-men' crew and the new guys of all ppl] Brown and Vasquez are solid and Torre needs to shake up the line up cuz Jeter is not a lead off hitter and should be put back to the 2nd spot, perhaps but A-Rod up there or Travis Lee when he's playing 1st?
