Today's news - Almost all N trains were R160, as usual. Only saw 1 non-NTT set which was an R68A consist. Saw 2 - that's right, TWO R160 W trains today. Car numbers of the first one were 8863-8867 north end. The second one is (south) 8882-8878+8903-8907(North). The rest were R68s. 2 out of 9 W trains are R160. It is easy to tell the difference between N and W on the front, interior and FIND screens (especially the last two), because the outer slashes are curved outward like on the normal letter W. If you're hallucinating it looks like an N, but only if you look at it for a split second and it's not moving.
In other news, when I was hanging out at Ditmars Boulevard today an R40 pulled into the station (if I'm facing north it was on the left track) signed as an N. If pulls in, and the station agent makes an announcement saying that it is not in service. My guess is that it was going straight to the yard. It looked like it was on a trip just hours ago because of the blue stop smoking advertisement cards on the floor. Was probably headed light to Coney Island Yard, and then to Pitkin Yard for storage or 207th for scrapping. Some car numbers - 4356-4357, 4310-4311, 417X-417X.
