In the Bronx, is there a local or express route that you dislike and why (B/O, bus model, headways, school/college students, transfers, etc)? _________________________ On A Clear Day, You Can See Forever......

B35 via Church B35 via Church MTA Executive Registered: 08/18/05 Posts: 4052 Loc: East Flatbush	yes. the Bx28... from the truman kids... to the ignorant aes that get on/off on at that stop at gun hill rd/white plains rd (around the corner from the last stop of the Bx39)... mind you, these are not necessarily ppl. that live IN those projects... long story short, I avoid that route like the plague. I don't bother w/ the Bx26 much due to its headways... but I will tolerate that over the Bx28... when I have to get to co-op, its either the Bx30, or the Bx12 and a long walk afterwards... _________________________ The B35... One route that Still does NOT need a limited !!!!**

We also get some ignorant a$$es at Morris Av/161st St (mostly crackheads coming from the methadone clinic, welfare, and social security). They always get through the back door and come short of the fare. B35 via Church B35 via Church MTA Executive Registered: 08/18/05 Posts: 4052 Loc: East Flatbush	^^ I don't use the Bx6 much, but when I have, yeah, there are a bunch of crackheads, sob-story tellers & other "undesirables" (as Lex Express calls em) that board that route.... haven't seen how bad that route can get w/ rowdy kids though, as I never taken it during after school hrs... _________________________ The B35... One route that Still does NOT need a limited !!!!

I don't know if this counts but the QBx1 in Co-Op City ...barely see the QBx1 in co-op city, if that's what you mean... haha... w/ me though, the QBx1, when it gets to pelham bay park... ppl. that board it tend to act like savages; cursing out the b/o b/c THEY didn't know what QBx1 stop to wait at, so god forbid they have to walk back a couple steps just to board the front of the bus.... yeh, some board the back, but that's another issue... but... but, some of those b/o's that are on that route, do tend to stop @ the wrong qbx1 stop.... _________________________ The B35... RR RR Bus Driver Registered: 04/02/05 Posts: 410 Loc: Washington Heights, Manhattan	the lines i hate the most are the Bx9 and the Bx12 because they are always crowded and the Bx36 because of how many rude people ride this line.

It's painfully slow, and there have been times I've had to wait more than 40 minutes for it on a weekday afternoon. Making it worse are the disproportionate number of people in wheelchairs; as I've said before, I've seen more wheelchairs on the Bx19 than on any other route in the entire city (not just the Bronx). I used to take it every day from 167th Street to Fordham Road (since I go to Fordham University), but now, more often than not, I walk over to Prospect and get the Bx17 instead. I chose the Bx38's route for two main reasons: 1. Since the Bx17's rerouting to St. Ann's Av in 2005, there is no bus route serving areas east of St. Mary's Park. 2. QBx1 - not enough buses at any time of day, especially when the sun goes down. God help you then if find yourself waiting for a bus at 8pm. Bx19 - slow azz bus. You'd think the artics would help that line out but they find a way to make an already slow bus even slower. It's a catch-22 cause they need those buses. If I need that bus, I make sure I don't have to be on it for long. I've beaten that bus from 149th - GC to 145th and Lenox Av many times. Bx28 - I don't dislike the line but I can't stand the riders of that line. They are so rude and they just love to beat the fare, especially at the worst stop of the whole line, Gun Hill and White Plains Rd. I've had days I've wanted to spit on some of them cause they are so loud and unruly. B35 via Church B35 via Church MTA Executive Registered: 08/18/05 Posts: 4052 Loc: East Flatbush	not just the stop, but that whole area around montefiore is a traffic nightmare... doesn't help when you have 3 buses trying to pull into a bus stop that's on a narrow street to begin with (bainbridge).... yes, I know more routes stop there, but it is not uncommon to see 3 physical buses lined up one behind the other @ that stop.... ^^ you need more than one hand to count how many traffic accidents has happened on bainbridge/gun hill rd., whether vehicle-vehicle or vehicle-pedestrian.... the truman stop is only horrendous when those schoolkids let out... otherwise, it's just about dead... but that WPR/Gun hill intersection... far too much BS happens at that stop... it's by far the worse of the three... from the farebeaters, to the (otherwise) inconsiderate/impatient riders, to the homies on the co'ner lookin to start trouble, the list goes on... ^^ sure the Bx30 uses that stop also... but what I'm gettin at is, most of the riff-raff happens on that Bx28... let a Bx28 & a Bx30 pull up @ that stop... see where most the ppl. go runnin towards.... I don't care what time of day it is.... _________________________ The B35... One route that Still does NOT need a limited !!!!

Compared to the 3rd Av buses, the Bx41 is a joke when it comes to speed and performance. It is slow (especially in the area around the projects from 168th-Claremont). Also, the Bx41 has its fair share of fare-beaters and drug addicts that get on at the N/B stop just north of Fordham Road (near 193rd St). _________________________ All That I Needed Was You In My Life You're So Right, All That I Wanted Was You, You Made All....
