The W line is gonna be the next line to get the R160.

R160 to the W

Totally unfair. There are other more deserving lines. Full time lines should have priority in receiving new cars.

They might make the W a full time line.

The W? I thought the Q or the R.

Thanks for the link R42 4811. The number of R160s apparently is why they're going to the (W) rather than the (Q). Understandable.

I'm glad I work the IRT. From an operator's position, I don't like the R-160. I operated the simulator at 130 livingston, and unlike the R-142 there is no relief. On the R-142, when your right arm gets tired you can switch to operating with the left. This is impossible on the R-143, R160. Left handers must hate this equipment. NYCT is inviting an endless string of workmen's compensation claims. But to all the "W" line riders, Enjoy your new cars.

I was expecting the (Q) to be the next.

Are the R160's running on the (J) yet, or just on the rush-hour (Z)?

I agree Mr. Wilson. Even if the R-160's are 'delayed' in going online, you could still have a 50/50 split with say R-68's and the new R-160's on the "Q" till rest of order arrives by later on this year. The "W" is among the lowest ridership in system.

I agree completely. Very poor decision on the MTA's part.

It's all about politics. I think they are trying to please the hipsters of Astoria.

Well, I guess people riding on the local won't have to be jealous of R160s flying by, eh? The W just got R68s from the N and now they are changing fleet again??

I think the R160's are replacing the R40's, not the R68's.

This is disturbing. I'd rather have the Q keep the 68/A's for an extra year or give the 160's to another line entirely than to give it to a line like the W. The MTA needs to come more correct than this.

The people of Astoria have a lot of political clout.

You really think the people in Astoria had something to do with this? I'm not doubting you but I'm very curious about that.

Although it would be nice to see r160s on the W, it shouldn't be next.

So far i have been fine with the order. The J/M/Z definitely needed them. Next i think it should go on the C then the B/W. I am fine with the R68s on the W and B.

It would be better on the C than the R.
