It doesn't take that long. At most 30mins on a bad run from Queens Plaza to Greenpoint/Manhattan Aves during afternoon rush hour with the draw bridge in operation.
Late nights and late evenings, barely 10mins at most.
That is, when the G is actually there. Why you do think people run like rats towards the train? Because who knows when the next one is coming. It sucks. Why don't we have any say at all over what service the MTA cuts? We are, after all, the people who take mass transit.

They would not run both, it would be either or. And if anything the MTA [facing financial deficits] would probably be better off with just the E/F/R and having both E/R as locals.
If the G, V, & R each have about 9 minute headways, and the L has almost 3 minute headways, isn't it the same thing, turning around a train every 3 minutes at a terminal?

Now that the planned upgrades are all nearly cancelled, maybe the M.T.A. will leave the (G) on Queens Boulevard on weekends. This would be a good deal and also help the (R).

Well they need to do something....can't leave these people hanging....I am in favor of sending the Q up there on weekends and overnights via 63rd street

That was what I said. It is a good back up.

Me too! I remember proposing that long ago. It is, but I doubt the MTA has enough money to pay the crews needed in that operation.

Since there's no V on weekends, there's no second QB local line for riders (especially those heading to Queens Center Mall). That's why there needs to be 2 QB Local lines on weekends.

Well he's making it sound like queens blvd should either have the G or have nothing as a QB local, don't want the E or F to be touched, so this is why the Q would be the perfect wild card

The E being a short line as it is would be best as the second local since the MTA is short on $ and if they won't extend the G or give the R more trains then the last resort should be to make the E a local.

What happens if the (F) becomes more crowded on weekends as a result, will MTA then have to double (F) weekend service if (E) riders switch to the (F)?
