Actually, the most dangerous parts of Manhattan are Chelsea and the Village. My own precinct, the West Harlem-based 26th, is the fifth safest in the city. So maybe blithely assuming that whites = safety isn't as productive as you think. No, I still wouldn't venture in parts of Washington Heights or Harlem after midnight. However, there are also middle class black and hispanice communities in the city. Try East New York in Brooklyn and Far Rockaway to the list of neighorhoods to 'avoid' late at nights also. Add to that list Williamsbridge and Wakefield (especially under the 2 line north of Gun Hill) and Morrisania's Project City (3rd Av between 168th-171st).
Washington Avenue from 163rd to 168th also gets tight. So does Prospect between St. Anthony of Padua and 169th.

The 121 Street stop is a brief walk from beautiful Kew Gardens and Metropolitan Avenue. If you're coming from Wall Street or lower Manhattan, the J is an alternative (although quite slow) to the packed express E or F trains.

The sad part about it is it's truth at one point.
I grew up watching on lines like the 4,5,6, 2,3 knowing well that on a crowded train my chances of getting a seat was strong after 86th street on the Lex lines and 96th street on the lenox lines that was the way it was until the harlem boom. Still today you know if you see a white person on the 2 line that they are getting off at 180th pelham pkwy maybe allerton , and on the 5 they are getting off at pelham pkwy , morris pk, 180th street and now a few is at Dyre.
the 4 train is woodlawn , moshula , bedford pk,
the 6 line is probally the most diverse line in the bourough from start to finsih , the L is diverse,
times is changing we have one common factor ...

I think its funny you choose the Cypress Hills Station. I think there are still 2 or 3 white people living in Woodhaven. ;-) Well, I take the B13 to Cypress Hills or Crescent Street, and get the J there. Or if I get the B20, I take it to Broadway Junction. It's not that I choose it, I have to travel somehow. But like I said, this is a bad post, since people of any race can live anywhere. The Bronx has a lot of white people (my family is in Fordham) and I've seen black people in Ridgewood, where I live, where it's predominantly white. So this is not accurate. Besides, Woodhaven does have a lot of white people there, there are just more Hispanics and Asians there.
