I like the N/W extension (though that enters NIMBYville).

It's clear you wanted a cross-Bronx subway line but I don't think extending the A train is the solution.

The F train and 2 train extensions are beneficial (as well as the SAS). Even the V benefits people in this scheme. My only complaint is the G being extended to Church-if there is going to be express service on the Culver line then the G can't be the local since it doesn't go to Manhattan.

that was kind of what i was thinking, but i heard the G was supposed to be extended.

i was actually thinking of a making the C the local that would start @ Av X. Then a new line (K - i read on one thread that that could be a local along CPW) that would be a local and end @ 168 st in manhattan (if the C were extended to 207) ending @ lefferts.

Also i am not sure if i mentioned this in another thread, until the SAS is built, the R should be express in manhattan and the Q local. once that is finished and if the LGA extension is built, the W would be local and N express in Queens, alowing the N to be local in manhattan and keeping the R express. The R is too long of a route to not have and express section in 3 boroughs

I like the extension of the V since I mentioned something to that effect. I would place a station at 101ave-Ozone Park. Since the V would be turning away at 63rd. I would think the G can maybe go to 71st all times maybe. I like the F,2 and the 7 extension as well as the extension to LGA. The only thing I'm not sure is making th C go to Lefferts since that would be taking away an express ride for the riders there. Overall, I think these ideas are great and should be created since most benefit Queens. By any chance does anyone know how the Myrtle Avenue-Central Avenue-Rockaway Line from the IND second system plan would have looked like on a current map? Thanks

Rather than the A cutting through the Bronx like that, just extend the D from 205th to Gun Hill Road under the Dyre 5 line.
Also nice, I like that idea of extending the 2 to Kings Plaza via Flatbush Av. It was also one of my ideas.
Finally, the T should be extended to 149th/3rd Av for connections to the three IRT lines 2/5/6, rather than to just end under Lexington av.

i never thought about it going under Gun Hill, thats a good one.
and i think it would be good to extend the T to 149 st, but i am guessing the MTA wants to have a route within manhattan, so if anything the Q would be extended to 149st

The Q would be long enough so it should just end at 125th. The T being much shorter should be extended north being a parallel to the Lexington lines as well as taking off some riders from the 5 and 6 lines.
As far as Lefferts, I say have the A split into the A and H. A to Far Rockaway and the H to Lefferts. The C will still be local to Euclid as it is now.

I agree with a lot of your suggestions, the only exception being the extension of the A across the Bronx. It just seems too radical to even be considered pratically feasible.

If the Bronx is in need of additional subway service, I'd suggest re-installing the Third Avenue line from 149th Street to Gun Hill Road.

And then we'll rebuiled the Third avenue El...which if left alone would have been the hero in the first place, now it will be division B pulling the strings  cool

I agree with the T being extended to 149th, but let the Q do so as well. Plus, the SAS would not be worth anything without a good ol express run. Make it like the A from 59th to 125th.

I think it's considered the 71st Ave/Forest Hills terminal.

I'd like to see the (T) extended for 4 stops beyond its currently-proposed 125th St. terminus:

1) 3rd Ave & 138th St (transfer to the 6)
2) 3rd Ave & 149th St (transfer to the 2 and the 5)
3) 3rd Ave & 161st St
4) 3rd Ave & 167th St (last stop, allowing Morrisania residents easier access to the east side.)

not bad if it were to continue along 3rd av. then i think it would be a really fulfilling line

So, in other words, just rebuild the (8), minus the extension to Gun Hill Road?

I'll do it this way...

"changes made, extension of the 7, A/C, N/W, V, 2, Q/T"

the 7: don't think it should go as far as F. Lewis... would terminate it @ or around Sanford/Northern (don't underestimate how many riders would use that stop if it were to exist)... but hey, at least you didn't do/mention that (unnecessary, IMO) 7 extension on the West side.....

the A/C: totally disagree w/ that bronx extension... who's gonna wanna take a bx crosstown... that travels through upper manhattan like that, as well?
But at least that idea would kill crowds on the Bx12 laugh

the N/W: yeh, it enters nimbyville, but I still think this is the best part of your proposal... bus service in that general area is horrid....

the V: looks as if it would be pain-stakingly slow; worse than the current 'R'... anyway, having subway service along woodhaven is not too bad an idea.... your idea gives 6th av riders access to JFK... the route/trackwork doesn't look too practical though; w/ the question being, how would it go from QB (under a tunnel) to connect w/ the 'A', which is an el' at that point?

the 2: everybody @ they mamma's been mentioning such an extension... it is needed... not much else to say....

the Q/T: the MTA's idea.... although I've grown used to it (the 'Q') terminating @ 57th, it could service a LOT more riders than what it currently does.... the T train is very much needed... agree w/ the idea(s) here....

and you didn't mention the extension you put on the 'G'... just about everyone been mentioning that as well... same as the extension on the 'F'... agree w/ both...

i know that some may be a stretch, but hey you never know.

If (A) went to Bronx, full trip might be almost round trip of W15 bus from White Plains & Peekskill. When I was at Howard Beach, lots of people and tourists waiting for (A) was compaining, same as Rockaways resident and Broad Channel folks. So, that not good idea to me either. (A) is already long enough.
I think I agree with (2) to Kings Plaza and could be express version of Q35 in Brooklyn.

Nope, a 2 extension could mean the Q35 could be cut back to just Kings Plaza or a reduction in B41 limited service to Kings Plaza.

Also, pointing one thing out. With your current V train service, there are two stations right next to each other called '63rd Drive'. Perhaps some station renaming?

Well I think he's trying to use the abandoned LIRR Rockaway Beach ROW. I heard there was a tunnel built at 63rd that was meant to connect to the ROW (not sure if it is) but maybe the trains can go through this tunnel and proceed on the ROW making their stops. With the V plan, I like it since I mentioned something like that but I would not put another 63rd station. I would just put stops at Yellowstone, Metropolitan, Park Lane South, Woodhaven/Atlantic, and 101 ave-Ozone Park which I think wasn't placed but basically stops that use to be in the branch)then do down to Rockaway Park.

The 6 seems like the easier extension, but it would have to go through a park. However, Metro-North may build a station there.
