Saw at least 3 sets of R42 (V) trains today. Anyone else notice this? One of the cars was 4660.

Nice, I rode a R32 V today. One of the cars I believe was 3610. The Front LED shows a E but the rollsigns all had V via 6 Ave, Continental Avenue, Queens, and 2 Av Manhattan.

I guess they are just shifting the R46s around too much and the V needed some sets.

im guessing this is going to be common. wonder wats going on with the R46's... i think 75 footers should stay on the (V) because ridership is not as high as the (E)(F)or(R)

Just a swap of trains. The V will take off some R42's and R32's from the E and F. The E runs a couple more R160s and the F runs more R46's.

Eventually when more R160's arrives at Jamaica yard, the R42's will be retired, and the R160s goes to the F. The R46's will then be freed up again for the V.

yea the (E) is like 90% R160 if this swap continues. the (F) will be running less R42's and less 32's and more R160's and R46's
so i guess no more R32's on the (E) and a rarity on the (F)

I like this swap. The V gets the oldest cars while the E and F get the newest cars. I'm loving this!

Can also be the old adage of "Part Time Line Gets Oldest Cars"

Yeah...makes me wish the B still had some R40/R42. Brighton Line is just so awesome to Railfan.

How so? Before there were the R160's the only 60' cars for the E and F lines were the older R32-42's. It's now that there are enough R160's around that the E and F no longer needs as many of the older trains [which has more doors than an 8-car R46 train].

I agree with you. The F is the last line left in southern Brooklyn to railfan on. As in you can see the line from the front window.

I don't think it lost all of them, but they will run fewer of them with the V running a few more R32's and R42's.
