Service Cuts Alert

In July 2003, the MTA proposed a budget which includes $129.3 million in reductions as part of New York City Transit’s Program to Eliminate the Gap in 2003 and 2004. The cuts include reductions in cleaning subway cars, stations, track beds and buses; maintaining infrastructure and signals; inspecting subway cars and overhauling buses; painting bus stops; cuts in subway elevator operators; and removing graffiti.

Tell him to live up to his promise to not cut service if the fare was raised to $2.
